BIO

Marius Alecse

Marius Alecse is an animation director, storyboard artist, and animator with over 25 years of professional experience across television, digital, and online animation.

He began his career in the late 1990s after interning at Hanna-Barbera, taking a largely self-taught path that led to early opportunities with Zeroes and Ones on Paul Frank’s Julius and Friends web series, followed by freelance work with Otterslide Studios working on Urban Entertainment content. He later joined Film Roman’s digital division, Level 13, as an animator.

Marius went on to spend several years at Cartoon Network, working as an animator and lead animator, before continuing his career with smaller studios, most notably Six Point Harness. As industry tools and pipelines evolved, he pivoted toward storyboarding, establishing himself in that role on Season 2 of Big Mouth, followed by episodes of Teen Titans Go! for Warner Bros.

He later joined Bento Box on Season 1 of Duncanville as a storyboard artist, where he expanded his responsibilities to animation revisionist, retake director, and ultimately episodic director. He served as episodic director on Seasons 2 and 3 of Duncanville, with an interim directing role on The Prince, and later guest-directed episodes of Netflix’s Exploding Kittens.

In addition to studio work, Marius creates independent animated content through his YouTube channel, That's a Choice, producing short-form animated videos during nights and weekends. The channel serves as both a creative outlet and a way to stay sharp while exploring direct-to-audience storytelling.

Marius is currently available for directing, storyboarding, and animation projects.
